We love fun playful brands. And this is definately one of them. Lil Baddits is an ethically made clothing brand for little babes. The Lil Gourmet Collection is just the best. Pickle Pants. Sardine Onesies. Bean Blankets. Bright. Colourful. Playful. Not too serious. All about fun. All about food.
We were lucky enough to have a chat to the babe behind the brand, Sylvia. And we can not wait to meet this wonderful, inspirational lady at Life Instyle next week.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS, LIL BADDITS.
Lil Baddits is a luxury range of babywear that’s good for your Lil ones and good for the world they will inherit. With non toxic dyes and a sustainable product and manufacturing process, it’s as gentle on the environment as possible.
By using the finest G.O.T.S ( Global Organic Textile Standard) organic cotton and making conscious decisions to pay for ethical production, remove single use plastics and use recycled paper where possible, I am trying to evolve with each range and make changes for a considered product and brand.
WHAT MADE YOU START UP YOUR BUSINESS.
I think I have always wanted to run my own business. I have worked in wholesale my whole life and have a creative side that dying to be set free. So I thought it was about time to have a go!
AND WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM.
Well, it’s a funny one. My son and my niece both couldn’t say “Rabbit”. They kept on asking us to find their “Baddits’. It took us a while to figure out what they were talking about and then it kind of just stuck around.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO JUGGLE YOUR BUSINESS AND MUM LIFE.
Well, it’s not easy especially when I’m still working to fund the new business. I think you really have to know what the priority is and get it done before moving onto the next thing.
WE ADORE YOUR WORK. CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PRODUCTS.
Oh, thanks! Well the first collection is called “Lil Gourmet” and it’s all about experiencing food again through with your Lil ones. From the tang of the pickle to the pop of the lids, I have loved seeing food through my son’s eyes and thought it was great inspiration for the first range.
I designed the range with my “Modern Basics” in mind. – The harem pant, the scoop hem T-shirt, rolled cuff romper and the harem shorts are at the core of the range.
Its about functional and adjustable styles with fun timeless unisex prints that can be mixed in with basics or worn together.
THROUGHOUT YOUR BUSINESS JOURNEY, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY THE BIGGEST LESSON YOU HAVE LEARNT IS.
Do as much of it as you can, but if there is something that you can outsource that will save you time when you can be more effective elsewhere, you need to do that. At some point you need to put a value on your time.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE STARTING A SMALL BUSINESS.
Life is short. If you really want to do something you just have to back yourself and take a chance at some point. It’s better to have failed trying than to have never tried at all.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIECES FROM YOUR OWN RANGE.
I love the Sardine quilted blanket. Its perfect for a cot liner, travel blanket and throw for picnics… and did I mention its so super soft!

AND WHAT IS PLANNED FOR LIL BADDIT'S FUTURE.
